ok.. thats one of the highlights! and the waitress was quite fair and pretty! the goo thing on top of the steam egg is actually soup stock! its not those like egg that steam inside the steamer and then ‘water condense into one pool of water inside your egg’ kinda shit .. its the real stuff man!

next highlight was dinner with dad’s shi fu,  Mr Sakimoto ..

an ex trader from one of the biggest firm last time, really humble and cool guy :) he dealt with yakuzas! how cool is that!  Mr Oya, he booked this like 4 months in advance! yeah.. thats how popular this place is! we had kai-saki style dinning ( aka japanese fine dinning style with many dishes but all portioned and nicely decorated)

dish #1

Dish #1

Dish #1:

1) fried ikan billis like a fried white bait style

2) vege selection – lotus root, carrot roll with fish, and a tai sashimi sushi ( tai is like some winter fish .. i think its called tai. got it mixed up with the baby puffer fish)

3) chilled handmade tofu

4) choya because all the men have quit drinking hard liquour and alcohol :)

Dish #2

Dish #2:

i think it was fish soup .. if i remember correctly .. then there is like the soya sauce to dip the fish :) it went down well :)

Dish #3

Dish #4 : Fish

see how much fish they have in a meal! its only the 4th dish and there is like 3 fishes :)  and more ..

so that was grilled fish, with a nice stem of red ginger, sweet potato and cheese!

Dish #5 : paper hot pot :)

we had a choice between: 1. crab
                                                                          2. the seasonal fish

i took the crab one .. and the best part of it was that, the crab was de-shelled! so it was just easy to like bite it off and all :) the soup was very sweet and clear :D

dish #6

Dish #6

Dish # 6 : Tempura

tempura baby puffer fish! nobody died no worries .. but it was really soft.. like eating a fried steam fish kinda thing :) and the best part of it was that, although its tempura in deep fried oil, the paper did not have much oil stains on it!!!

dish #7

Dish#7

Dish #7:  Jelly with seaweed and Raddish slices in vinegar

this dish came at the right time! it was like a something sour to sort of like ‘wash down’ everything you ate.. especially after a fried dish .. it was refreshing and superb!

Dish #7

Dish #8

Dish #8 : mixed rice

this is the favourite-test and the most quaint dish that i ever eaten for the dinner.. not only in terms of presentation, but as well as its taste ..  the bucket inside is rice, next to it on the right, is a platter of mashed egg white, seasonal fish, egg yolk, seaweed, raddish, wasabi and spring onions. The plate in the middle are preserved raddish .. and the cup with the saucer is soup inside .. So, you are supposed to scoop some rice into the bowl, use the spoon and scoop abit of everything ( excluding the preserved raddish) and lastly pour the soup into the rice.. thus looking like :

Final product :)
